今月、実に44年ぶりにお会いした先輩。中央がその先輩63歳、左がひとつ上の先輩で62歳。。高校陸上競技部であった。その先輩はカッコマンで、全学校が集まる、立川競技場で唯一人、水色のチャンピオンのスウェットジャージを着用していた。立川の南口のスポーツショップ（当時はスポーツ用品店）でしか売っていなかった。僕もすぐに買ったが1万五千円くらいした。1980年の話である。その販売していた店と、かなりの至近距離でランチをした。元立川米軍基地があった辺りだ。不思議な縁である。
This month, I met a senior I hadn’t seen in 44 years. The person in the center is my senior, who is 63 years old, and the person on the left is my other senior, who is 62 years old. We were both members of the high school track and field club. My senior was very stylish, and he was the only one wearing a light blue champion sweatshirt at the Tachikawa Stadium, where all the schools gathered. It was only sold at a sports shop (at that time, it was a sporting goods store) near the south exit of Tachikawa Station. I bought one immediately, but it cost about 15,000 yen. This was in 1980. I had lunch at a place very close to the store where it was sold. It was near the former Tachikawa U.S. military base. What a strange coincidence.
