僕は24年、自分のアロハシャツを通して、色々な方と出会ってきた。それは、ほとんど僕の知らないうちにがほぼ。2024年に、たまたま上野にあるうさぎやCAFEに入った。それから半年後に、ハワイの僕のお店にこのうさぎやCAFEのオーナー谷口氏が訪れてくれ「半年前に上野で声をかけることが出来なかった」と僕が留守だったため、スタッフに伝言を残してくれた。そして写真は、2025年6月再度うさぎやCAFEへ。しっかりご挨拶出来た。本店の歴史が凄い。創業112年。池波正太郎さんも、ウロウロしていたエリア。僕なんかの24年は、まだまだである。楽しい出会いに感謝。
Over the past 24 years, I have met many people through my aloha shirts. Most of these encounters happened almost without my knowing it. In 2024, I happened to visit Usagiya CAFE in Ueno. Six months later, the owner of Usagiya CAFE, Mr. Taniguchi, visited my store in Hawaii and left a message for the staff, saying, “I couldn’t speak to you six months ago in Ueno because you were away.” The photo is from June 2025, when I visited Usagiya CAFE again. This time, I was able to properly greet him. The history of the main store is impressive—it’s been in business for 112 years. It’s an area where Ikkaku Ikeda also used to roam. My 24 years are still nothing compared to that. I’m grateful for the enjoyable encounters.
