今日日本は、終戦記念日である。昨日久しぶりにパールハーバーに行き、初めて戦艦ミズーリに乗った。日本語ガイドさんの案内は、ほとんど自分の知らないものであった。昔歌にあったが、「戦争を知らない子どもたち」そのままである。深く反省した。写真は、日本の降伏文書調印式のもの。これは東京湾でおこなわれた。この頃の政治家は、崇高な雰囲気。もう一度歴史を、勉強しなければならない。

今の時代本当に便利。昔は写真を現像し、封筒に入れ郵送していた。13年前オープンした頃は、3年間くらい写真を葉書にして、御礼状を自分で書いていた。SNSは不得手と書いたが、その不得手なものが、「インスタグラムいつも見ています！！！」との来客が、ぼちぼち増えてきた。写真はメールで、送られてきたもの。インスタグラムあなどれん。
These days are truly convenient. In the past, we used to develop photos, put them in envelopes, and send them by mail. When we opened 13 years ago, we used to send photos as postcards and write thank-you notes by hand for about three years. I mentioned that I’m not good at social media, but lately, more and more customers have been saying, “I always check your Instagram!” The photos were sent to us by email. Instagram is underrated.

写真は、2020年5月のワイキキ。緊急事態宣言が出ている時のもの。人も車もゼロ。珍しい光景である。その後、コロナ、円安ハワイは凄いことになっているが、普通に歩けるし、マスクもいらないし、ご飯も食べることが出来る。写真の時よりはるかに幸せである。
The photo was taken in Waikiki in May 2020, during the state of emergency. There were no people or cars. It was a rare sight. Since then, despite the coronavirus and the weak yen, Hawaii has been amazing. You can walk around normally, you don’t need a mask, and you can eat out. It’s much happier than when the photo was taken.
